About us

The All India Peoples Science Network (AIPSN) organized a “Jan Vigyan Jatha” activity in the year 1987 and Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti (BGVS) organized a Bharat Gyan Vigyan Jatha on the eve of International Literacy Year-1990.  These jathas visited Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh and sensitized the local youth, intellectuals and socially committed activists. Mandi Saksharta Samitit/ Presently Mandi Saksharta Evum Jan Vikas Samiti  was formed and registered under Societies Act of 1860 in Feb.1992 by these sensitized activists of  BGVS belongs to District Mandi.  The Samiti successfully implemented many projects and organized various activities & Campaign upto village level with community involvement and participation.

Aims and objectives

  • To undertake mass awareness campaign for literacy, Education, Health, Sanitation, Environment and peoples development in Distt. Mandi of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Work for creating  awareness about National Unity , Social Justice, Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, Democracy, Secularism and Socialism through print and electronic media in District Mandi of Himachal Pradesh.
  • To organize training programmes camps and seminars for the social and economic betterment of the people.

  • To establish functional linkage with appropriate technology with the traditional technology in rural and urban areas.
